Our Pastor

Jeff Ragan was hired as the Executive Pastor of Centerpoint Community Church in June 2017. Born in Arkansas and raised in East Texas, Jeff spent his formative years in a typically southern home, ranching, playing sports, swimming in the summers and snow skiing in the winters in Colorado with his family. After graduating high school Jeff returned to Arkansas, attending the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, earning his undergraduate degree in French Literature.

Upon graduation he immediately began teaching and coaching, which led him first to Baytown, Texas, then Tucson, Arizona, and finally to Eureka, California. It was during these years of teaching that Jeff realized he desired to spend more than one year building into his students. Having spent his college summers as a horse riding instructor at a summer camp where he was able to really challenge youth to grow and change, God began to stir and grow in him the heart of a shepherd. During one of these summers he took a class at Dallas Theological Seminary. While in Tucson he came to the realization that he could merge his passions (his love for Jesus and teaching youth) and responded to his first call to ministry by being ordained at the age of 25 years old.

From there Jeff moved to Eureka, California where he was hired as a youth Pastor. While in Eureka Jeff met his wife, Janine, who is a native of Humboldt County, CA. Over the ensuing years, in order to provide for their burgeoning family, in 2004 Jeff left full-time ministry and became a Real Estate Agent. Though Jeff was not being paid as a minister, he continued to serve the Church of Humboldt in several different capacities. In the spring of 2017, Jeff applied to become the part-time bi-vocational Executive Pastor of Centerpoint Community Church, and was hired in June.
